Brethren,
What a great May Meeting!
Honoring our 25 & 50-year members gives me another reason to
be glad that I can serve our Lodge. Standing in the East and
listening to everyone congratulating our long-time members made me
realize the pride our members have in their Fraternity.
Thank you again for electing me to serve.
Congratulations to Bro.
Craig Roesser. Brother Craig received the "Mason of the
Month" award for his work and dedication to the annual
Greenleaf golf outing. His leadership has made our annual
outing enjoyable for many years. Thanks, Craig, a job well
done.
We are traveling on June 9th
to Philadelphia to tour the Grand Lodge and then on to Atlantic
City for a little fun in the sun. There might still be a few
open seats. Give me a call.
Our June Stated Meeting will
have a slightly different agenda. We invite family and
friends to join us for hamburgers and hot dogs outside beginning
at 5:30 PM. At 7:30 PM we will have short Stated Meeting and
then move downstairs where we will be entertained by the Shrine
Oriental Band while we have dessert of strawberries and ice cream.
Please bring your guests
to help make this meeting to remember.
Beginning July 9th, our
officers, past masters, and prospective officers begin our summer
rehearsal schedule. Greenleaf Lodge is unique because when
other lodges "go dark" for the summer, we continue to
learn and rehearse the ritual at Brethren's homes. The final
Ritualistic work done by Greenleaf Lodge does not come easy.
It takes hard work and espirit de corps to achieve
near-perfection. We are known throughout the district and
region as the Lodge that "best works and best
agrees". Contact the Senior Warden if you would like to
learn the work or host a summer meeting.
Don't forget the DeMolay
softball game at Alton (Percy Ruhe) Park on Sunday July 8th.
Bring family and friends to cheer and/or play.
Also coming up September
29-30 is our trip to Alexandria, VA to visit George Washington
Lodge. Wives are invited, so get your reservation
now.
Whew!! Whoever said
Freemasonary's dying because all we do is open and close boring
meetings hasn't been true to Greenleaf Lodge lately! All we
ask of the Brethren is to come out and support our endeavors.
Fraternally
