Worshipful Master's Message for September, 2004Brethren, Summer is coming to a close. Your officers were still at labor. Too many Masonic Funerals, but we were glad to say "Farewell" to our departed Brothers.. Still had our rehearsals every Monday night. Also, many investigations for our new petitions. To date, we have 15 new petitions for membership.
Our one-day class is fast approaching; we still need more petitions. It is time to follow up on the people who showed an interest in the Craft, but have not given you their petition and check. Brothers, some of you may not be in favor of this class, but with so many petitions so far, something is happening. I believe it is happening in us! We have not had this many new members in one year, in over 20 years, it is making a difference. But, there is always a but; we owe it to all these new members to go one on one. To tech them our Craft! This will take a lot of manpower, but we will do it and do it right. Also, we need some new petitions to go the traditional way. We will bring our one-day class members back to see these degrees so they can learn at a slower pace. Also, we need to get each of them into some aspect of the lodge or committee work. This is a golden opportunity we cannot afford to pass up. This will affect our lodge for years to come. I will be making phone calls for help.
Our September Stated Meeting will recognize and honor all our past masters. Please come out to meet old friends, and thank them, as I have learned what they put into our lodge. It will be a fun meeting.
Commercial break! Road trip (this time I will have a bus, we will not have to walk.) Bus trip to New York City to see the Christmas show at Radio City on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004. This is for all ages, bring the family. Cost is $105 including the show and bus. Please sign up now! Often we wait until the last minute, and that makes me nervous. The Annual Lodge Banquet will be Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, please see your officers. I will bring General Trexler for one of his last appearances this year. This is always a fun night with your ladies.
See you in September, as always, no test to get in!!
