October 2001
Worshipful Master's Message
Brethren,
This month's stated
meeting will be especially significant due to the recent senseless
disaster in New York City. Sometimes, we don't want to face our
own mortality and the dangers that are all around our path in
life. It's time we face these issues head-on.
Our stated meeting will
feature the memorial service for all our brethren who toil no
more. Brother Stanley Stephen's Funeral Home. He will explain
steps to take to ensure that your family, executor, and funeral
director know who to contact to ensure that you receive the
Masonic funeral service that allows your brethren to say their
farewells in a fitting manner.
The loss of so many
firefighters in NYC brings to the forefront how important these
brave men, throughout our great country, are to our welfare and
safety. October is fire safety month. At our meeting, we will be
recognizing the deeds of these great men and women. Many of the
fallen at the Trade Towers were firemen AND Freemasons.
Please keep them and their family and friends in your prayers.
THE APPEAL FROM GRAND
LODGE to donate to the relief of families affected by the
recent disasters should be given your utmost attention. We can't
make the grief go away, and our donations will not compensate for
those senseless acts, but let's help them get back on their feet
so they can face the future knowing that we share their grief and
that they are not alone.
There is an invitation
to our annual banquet. This will be OUR time to get
together, break bread, and show each other that we care for all
Freemasons. EVERY member of our lodge should make the time
to attend our banquet. Consider this insert a notice from the
lodge with the seal attached. As you meet your brother by the
wayside, give him a sign, and ask him to meet with us over dinner.
Fraternally
