Worshipful Master's Message
Brethren,
I feel like the
little kid when his pajamas fell down - "the end is in
sight!"
What
a Masonic year this has been! The R.W. Grand Master, Brother
Robert L. Dluge, Jr., through our District Deputy Grand Master,
Brother Robert W. Steckel has reminded us to have fun in our
Masonic Travels. I think our Lodge's members that chose to
participate in Lodge functions this year had a good time. Those
that chose not to get involved.... well, there's always next year.
This
year has been rewarding with social activities and ritual work
that will be remembered for years to come. Plays in New York,
Ladies Brunches, fun in Atlantic City, nice weather for our Golf
Outing, a picnic in the parking lot, an enlightening tour to Grand
Lodge in Philadelphia, outstanding degree work in Alexandria,
Virginia (first trip there since 1978), more petitions than we've
seen in years, speakers at almost every meeting, ..... and don't
forget the ETC. We are not getting older, we're getting better!
Each year brings new and exciting things to our Lodge. Our Senior
Warden has been giving me a peek at what is upcoming. I can't wait 'til
next year!
Speaking
of next year, Warden's Night in November gave us a look at the
officers for the Masonic year beginning on Saint John's Day next.
Our Lodge has a great future for many years to come. The officer
line is exceptional and will get even better with the upcoming
merger. We will be welcoming into our Lodge many Past Masters,
officers, and members that bring many years of Freemasonry and
experience with them.
Since
this will be my last "Master's Message", I want to thank
everyone for their support. I came into this year with some
trepidation after hearing some of the horror stories from Past
Masters of other Lodges. I leave this year with satisfaction,
knowing that I gave the Lodge the best work that was possible and
that the Lodge is moving ahead with Pride. I've heard that you
only get out of Freemasonry what you put into it. I now know
that's not true. I've gotten back ten-fold for every small service
that I have performed for the Lodge. Thank you again for allowing
me the honor to serve this Lodge.
I
want to close this year with a saying from Scottish Rite Masonry
that I used to close our 119th Banquet with , "Live
your life so that, when you die, the world will know it is a
better place because you had lived.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES
Fraternally
